Mariano Mayol began his artistic journey with monochromatic geometric abstractions. Marine tones, such as blue and white, are the key protagonists in most of his work. In recent years, his work has been focused and inspired by the sea… through nautical charts, the coast, and port cities such as Palma, etc… His work is distinguished by figurative works inspired by maps and other more geometric and abstract elements, inspired by the infinity of the sea. Thus, he abstracts reality and reduces the real scale of things to paper. The charts and cartographic maps convey his work to unknown areas of Palma that are very present in his work.
